OFFICIAL BIO
The Band of Heathens is an Austin-rooted independent band built around the songwriting partnership of Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist. Formed in 2005, the group has developed a soulful country-rock and Americana sound through nearly two decades of touring, organic recording and self-directed releases. The band broke through with appearances on Austin City Limits, has built a devoted live following and earned a platinum-certified hit with “Hurricane.” Its 2026 album Country Sides reflects on the group’s long-running commitment to honest songs, independence and following instinct over industry expectations.
