Where are you from?
Waxahachie, TX
What is your backstory?
Just a regular guy that picked up my roommates guitar in college because of heartbreak. Started learning guitar from YouTube and writing songs and somehow made it here.
What's the newest release people should check out?
New album Attitude Era really showcases a lot of our in your face music. It’s the rowdy live sounds people love to hear. Fans have called it Texas emo divorced dad rock.
Who are your biggest influences?
Lucero and Kolton Moore have really pushed a lot of my songwriting but I’ve always had 90s-00s rock music and Texas country around me which explains our sound pretty well
What's a hidden gem song from your catalog that people often miss?
“Something to Someone” It’s the only song I’ve ever written without a guitar. I wrote it driving home from the studio. We had to go back to record it so we could put it on this record.
Favorite lyric you've written?
It’s the beginning of an unreleased song “Far From the Truth”we have that might be coming out this year. “Im drunk crying in the living room about a girl I thought I knew screaming words to our favorite song atleast what I thought” It means a lot to me because it paints a picture of a moment in my life. Simple words with a big meaning kinda thing.
Dream collaboration?
I would have to say HARDY because we’re both on both sides of the fence. I can write a rock song one day and spit out something gut wrenching the next. Most people haven’t even heard the deep cuts I have sitting in the tank.
Best live show moment or memory so far?
We just got the play LJT main stage on a Saturday. That was a bucket list moment for me. I’ve been to LJT as a fan for 8 years. The 9th I got to go as an artist. Just standing on the same stage as some of the greatest artist to come through this scene was magical. I stood with my guitar on the same spot as Ragweed. What a moment.
What's next for you?
Keeping the grind rolling. A lot of artist say they’re independent but I like to think I’m a fully independent artist. No management, no booking. I do everything in house by myself and I’m extremely proud of that. I hope the day comes where someone takes it over and I can just be an artist.
Any Shoutouts?
The fans. All the fans who believed in me and has supported this crazy dream. All my friends and family that keep me sane most days. Huge shoutout to my band. Those guys really make me sound good on stage. I couldn’t do it without them. Can’t leave out the Lord. I’m thankful for the life and blessings he provides.
Anything else you want to say?
If you have a dream, follow it relentlessly. You never know where it’s going to lead.
