Tanglefoot Festival 2025: A Celebration of Texas Country and BBQ

Tanglefoot Festival

If you’re looking for an excuse to take a road trip… here it is. Temple, Texas has you covered. The inaugural Tanglefoot Music & BBQ Festival is rolling into downtown Temple September 12–13, and whether you’re there to honky tonk or only for the BBQ, this festival is built to become your new favorite tradition.

Big Flavors, Even Bigger Names

Tanglefoot is bringing in pitmasters from some of the best BBQ hotspots in the country: Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, and the Carolinas. Expect smoked meats, bold flavors, and maybe a friendly debate or two about which region does it best.

And the lineup? Absolutely stacked. Parker McCollum and Cody Jinks headline the weekend, but come early to catch rising stars like Shelby Stone, The Wilder Blue, and Silverada, plus icons like the Randy Rogers Band, Robert Earl Keen, and Jack Ingram. This is a show-up-early, stay-late kind of festival.

What Makes Tanglefoot Different?

Texas has no shortage of festivals… but Tanglefoot is doing things a little differently. Most BBQ festivals stick to local pitmasters. This one? It’s calling in the best from across the country. And while other music festivals might pack in crowds, this one keeps things laid-back while still bringing a lineup most cities would dream of. It’s BBQ, country music, and Texas charm all wrapped into one weekend.

Make It a Weekend

Tanglefoot falls on a Friday and Saturday, but why not stretch it out? Come in Thursday, leave Sunday, and make the most of your time in Temple. There’s plenty to explore: walk the scenic Santa Fe Trail, check out the local brewery scene, or dive into the city’s growing art culture. Whether you’re camping nearby or cozying up in a boutique hotel, this little Texas town makes for the perfect weekend escape.

Come hungry, bring your dancing boots, and get ready to experience Temple like never before.
