Chasing Dreams: The Rise of Joey Greer in Country Music

Joey Greer is a rising country artist from Nacogdoches, Texas, known for blending southern rock and 90s country with a soulful twist. Raised in a Christian household with parents who led worship, he was introduced to music early on and began performing at 17. Over the past seven years, he has built a dedicated fan base in East Texas by playing in numerous local venues and writing hundreds of original songs.

What is your backstory?

I have been around music my whole life through church and now a professional career. I have written hundreds of songs and put a few of them out over the last 6 years.

What's the newest release people should check out?

"Make It Alright" is a banger that didn’t get much attention, but I love the song!

Who are your biggest influences?

This is always a hard question. Hank Williams Jr. is a big one. Early on, Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson for sure also. 

What's a hidden gem song from your catalog that people often miss?

"Right Here With Me"

Favorite lyric you've written?

I think my song “Old Habits” is some of my best lyrical work.

Dream collaboration?

I’d love to drop a song with Morgan Wallen.

Best live show moment or memory so far?

Opening for Whiskey Myers at Wiggy Thump last year.

What's next for you?

I honestly don’t know what’s next. The scene is going through a lot of changes right now. I think writing and studio time are the next things on the horizon for me.
